Bling/Sketch Challenge Winner

It is Tequila's turn to draw a winner! Doesn't she look eager - LOL. She can be so lazy sometimes, but if you look closely you can see her ears are up and she is thinking about helping me out.I tossed the two entries out on the floor and she jumped down and picked one out, but I wasn't fast enough with the camera. She is also very stubborn so I was unable to get her to come back.
So I handed her the slip of paper and here you have it! {Sorry, had to use the flash since she's hiding under my desk}

Congratulations TrayChic!

Photo a Day Encouragement

It's the 6th of the month, how are you doing with that picture taking? I hope your doing great! If not I want to tell you a little story.

Yesterday I got up and decided that after adding Webster's Pages Trim to the store that I would add a slide show of my photos for this challenge. I followed all the directions and I tried to add it from the blog and from photobucket but still could not get it to fit in the side bar. I kept getting a slide show that only showed about 1/4" of the photo. I worked on this for 3 hours! I was so frustrated that I was just at a loss for inspiration of any kind.

Finally around 7:30p.m. I tried again to get the slide show working and I did it! So at this point the thought hit me. The Blog would be a perfect picture for my photo a day journal as that is what I did all day so that would be all I could journal about. Well I got the bright idea that I could make the blog a pretty 3 column deal. LOL why I thought that would be easy after I spent 3.5 hours on a slide show I don't know. So again my inspiration was lacking. Right before I went to bed at 11 I realized I had not taken a shot for my photo a day to share with you guys - so I glanced around the living room to see what inspired me. I realized that it was sort of funny all the journaling tag books I'm using for my photo a day journal. I stacked them up and tried. Well I still have to upload them and edit them to see if I can make them pretty but hopefully I'll add them to the slide show soon.

Hope this inspires you to push past those moments when you just aren't inspired. Oh remember it never hurts to take two when you are very inspired!

November's Guest Design Team Member Spotlight: Kimberly Mace
Where are you from?
Warner Robins, GA

What is the name and link to your blog?
Like seriously for real - Like Seriously For Real

What is your day job?
Stay at home mom. I have a 9 month old son and a 4 year old son that just started Pre-K.

What fad of scrapbooking did you never get into?
The super-sparse look. You know, the teeny, tiny picture that is off-centered with a tiny strip of ribbon and a title. I can admire it, but it just looks plain when I try to create that way.

What would you call your scrapbooking style?
Bright, layered, geometric, playful, and somewhat traditional as I like to use multiple photos and always journal.

What items will we always find on your projects?
I would say probably always brads and circle shapes.

What sparks your creativity when you are scrapbooking?
New paper! I don't even have a ton, because I use up every little scrap. New paper gets me planning out new layouts and pulling coordinating papers. Shopping for new papers is just as fun, because I start mentally noting what photos I want to get scrapped and what will work for me.

What is your favorite layout of all time and why?
It is really impossible for me to pick just one. Here's a newer one I'm pretty happy with. I love all the different silly pictures of my son and he truly is a unique one! I had fun splattering paint and love this color green too. This layout is one of those that definitely looks better in person, I promise!

I want to say a special thank you to Denise Martinez. She will be stepping down from her DT position at the end of this month. She was instrumental in getting the Design Team started and has shared her beautiful work with us during her time with us. We will miss her and her designs and great altered projects.

Inventory- Make sure that you check out the sales categories. I put on my annual scrapbooking yard sale and that means it's time to check inventory and sales categories. Check out the merchandise that has been moved to the sales categories and the merchandise that is further on sale.

Free Shipping Winner- Congratulations to Mary!

I want to wish you ALL a Happy Thanksgiving. Take lots of pictures and enjoy your family.

Scrapbooking Recipes

With the holidays coming so fast we need more hours in our day. One way I've found to help is quick and easy meals. Here is one that I love to use when I have a full day.

Lazy Log Cabin Casserole:

1lb stew meat cubed
1 can of Cream of Celery
1 can of Cram of Mushroom
1 packet of Beef Onion Soup (I don't use this. I just add salt, pepper, garlic powder and dried minced onions but I'm an eye ball cook)
Toss all this in the crock pot together give it a stir put it on low and cook it for 6 - 8 hours. Home cooked meal with just a few moments prep. Put a salad bag with it and your hubby can't be upset that there isn't a home cooked meal on the table.

Do you have a quick recipe? email me hgturner@everythingscrappn.com
