It's True...I Was Made For You

So do you ever buy just ONE sheet of an awesome double sided paper and wish you had gotten 2? This was the case with this particular paper. I wanted to utilize both sides, so this was my solution. I cut out a heart and simply reversed it so I could see both sides of the paper. I folded one side of the heart down and used a contrasting cardstock so I could journal a bit. Then in the empty heart spot, I used a page from a vintage german storybook I found at our thrift store for 25 cents! I have no idea what it says, I just love the little birdie illustration at the bottom.

Since the photo was taken at Sea World in San Antonio, I used a whale chipboard covered in turquoise Stickles. Then I used a KI Memories Softies Black Corner to imitate the spray coming out of his blow hole. I have a small collection of vintage stuff (b/c really, that's what it is, just "stuff."). Recently I acquired these taxi cab coupons which I used on the layout.

Materials List:

*PP: Love, Elsie
Paperfrills in Beetle Black by Doodlebug
Chipboard: Magistical Memories
*Softies Black Swirl Corner by KI Memories
Heidi Swapp Letter Stickers
Acrylic Frame by Making Memories
*Stickles Glitter Paint in Turquoise by Ranger
Black Sakura Glaze pen

The last few days

It's been a few days since I've posted anything.  I am currently in New Mexico.  We have seen the Cadillac Ranch in Texas, a dinosaur museum, ridden on old route 66, shopped in Toas NM and look into the Rio Grande Gorge.  The view are so breath taking the photos just don't do it justice.  We are presently in Santa Fa, New Mexico.  We stayed in Toas last night.  We are hoping to get some tickets to the Ty Murray Invitational that is out here this weekend.  So fare only bad seats are left so we may just hang out here and see what we can see.
The kids were able to see snow last night and we stopped and let them play in it on the side of a mountain.  We missed a picnic area in Kit Carson national park where they would have been able to build a snowman and I could have got some great photos but when you miss something up in the mountains there is no turning around to pick it up.
Well I think that is about it.  I'll have another post in a few days.

More Scrapp'n goodness

Can you feel it? Yeah, me too...it's Spring!! This Spring I'm excited to be using bright colors, the sun is shining, the wild flowers are blooming here in Southern California and life is good. Ok ok onto the layout.

I've used KI Memories Pop Culture Coloring Block Paper on this Fun Layout in addition to Zoe Click Click and Crimson Swirl yep, the Crimson Swirl is Christmas Paper!!

My favorite new product out there is Ranger Inks Liquid Pearls. I love how they add instant dimension to your pages.

As you can see I'm also very big into felt right now!(As is most of the scrapping world! lol) On this project I used both Queen and Co Felt ribbon and these adorable Prima Felt Birds.

Thanks for looking and Happy Spring to you all!

On the road

I don't plan on boring you with blogs everyday or with ever detail of the trip but I thought you might find it interesting to here where we have been ever few days.  At present I'm just outside of Little Rock Arkansas.  I couldn't get my Dad to drive town down so that I could see the capital.  Oh well.
Thus far we have been to Tupelo, Mississippi to see the birth place of Elvis and to Memphis and toured Graceland.  My son is a huge Elvis fan and he has been bouncing off the walls with excitement.  Currently at 9:53 he is still unable to give in to sleep.
The mighty Mississippi River is bulging and many other rivers near by are ready to cover the road if a good little rain adds any more.  I do pray that not much will be damaged if it does continue to rise.
The only scrapbook related information I can give you today is that I am working on a spiral book each night.  I'm adding my tickets and souvenirs if appropriate to my book.  Doing a little of the journaling in hopes that when I get home I can add a few embellishments and some pictures and be done.  I hope that this takes away that overwhelming  feeling of being behind as soon as I get home from this month long trip.   I do hope it turns out and that I will be able to share some grate pictures of it.
Happy Scrapping

Heidi Swapp's Carefree, Runway and World Traveler are at the store!

I'm so excited that my favorite girly stuff just came in.  I don't know if I'll have time to scrap with these products before I leave Monday but I'm sure going to try tonight!
The runway line is black, white and hot pink.  There are few girls who don't care for these colors.  She incorporated her love of hounds tooth in all of these lines.
Ok now I want to talk about the Carefree line.  This one is my FAVORITE!  I love these colors.  If you had looked in my closet the last two years when this color was super popular in clothes it was half my closet.  Ok ok it's that Aqua blue or what ever you want to call it.  She also has a little yellow in that line.  At CHA I was able to do a digital layout with the Strawberry Lemonade paper.  I don't have it loaded on the computer yet.  I'll try to get that done before I leave.
And her final line is World Traveler.  This one is warm.  It is two tones of brown some cream and burgundy.  The continents and globe paper is one that I hope to be able to use after I get back from my trip.  There is more in the line you can use for so much more than travel but they coordinate wonderfully.  She also has a brown and black hounds tooth in this line, I think I like it more than the black and white hounds tooth.

Well happy scrapp'n!  Please enjoy my guest bloggers.  I hope they enjoy it and will continue to honor us with their awesome scrap pages.

Thanks Girls I'll post a little about my travels as we head west across the US to the Grand Canyon and back.

Using those CHA goodies

Hi Everyone!! Heather asked me to help her out while she's out of town and well if you know me you know I can't wait...lol She's not even gone yet, but here I am posting away!!

I love using the stickles to outline things, as you can see I've used them on the prima sprites to give them some extra dimension. Also, I've outlined some of the stars on the KI Lace paper. Head on over to the store there are a lot of new items in stock that I'll be scooping up soon!

Have a Great Weekend!!

Maya Road Albums

I have just gotten several of Maya Roads new albums in.  I must say I can't decide which I like better the Heart album or the butterfly album.  I'm also very partial to the half circle.

In addition to the albums I also got in the Road Rage Signs chipboard and the Tree's chipboard.  Come by and check out the products.

Cloud 9 Designs Rain Dots are in.

I'm excited that these have arrived.  These accents are great for any page.  With their translucent color you can make them match what you need.  Cloud 9 also has different shapes.  I have in stock tear drops and hearts as well as the usual circles.

Personally I want to use the tear drop clears and the stardust pack to make a great pool page.  I have so many pool pictures and I need to do something new with them.

Remember if you want to check them out just click on the title of the blog to go to the store.

I love this line.  I can't wait to get back from my trip and use this stuff.  I love the robots and the mechanical look of it.  I think I'm going to have my husband get of picture of me working on my computer and use this to scrap it.

Don't forget to get to the store to look at these items just click on the title of this blog.

Cosmo Cricket CHA

Cosmo Cricket is in.  I just received the Cogsmo line, and the Black Board shapes and albums.  Be sure to check them out.

I'm So Excited

I got a phone call just yesterday from Rusty Pickles!  I can't wait for their new stuff to get here.  I don't have any digital images of the new white chocolate but they are bringing back the chocolate bunny.  I can't wait I didn't get enough last year and never could get my hands back on it.  Anyway it should be here in a day or two!  (This paper is great for making easter projects and layouts)

Easter Pails

I wanted to show you a way you can use your Creative Imagination paper (and if you don't have it yet you can get it at the store).  These Easter Pails are fun to make.  If you don't want to make them or don't have time I'm selling them.  $15.00 each w/ $5 shipping just let me know which one you want or visit my etsy  my name is EverythingScrappn (no space and no punctuation)

Tim Holtz Crackle Paint

This weekend my Aunt had a yard sale.  While I was at this yard sale gathering my things that didn't sale I found a tin watering can that I thought would make a great altered project.  On my way home I thought about the crackle paint and as soon as I got home I began to work on it.  I sanded down the tin where the paint wasn't smooth and picked the spiced marmalade.  I laid it on thick in some places and thin in others so that hopefully I'd be able to show ya'll exactly what it would do.  Well after painting it I just went crazy and did it all up so here are the pics of the crackle and of the finished product!  (products used: petaloo pallet, retro; tim holtz crackled paint, spiced marmalade; misc. ribbon; cloth covered brads, sorry don't remember by who)

Scrapbooking Recipes

With the holidays coming so fast we need more hours in our day. One way I've found to help is quick and easy meals. Here is one that I love to use when I have a full day.

Lazy Log Cabin Casserole:

1lb stew meat cubed
1 can of Cream of Celery
1 can of Cram of Mushroom
1 packet of Beef Onion Soup (I don't use this. I just add salt, pepper, garlic powder and dried minced onions but I'm an eye ball cook)
Toss all this in the crock pot together give it a stir put it on low and cook it for 6 - 8 hours. Home cooked meal with just a few moments prep. Put a salad bag with it and your hubby can't be upset that there isn't a home cooked meal on the table.
